Will there still be schools and teachers in the future?

People have been thinking about the future lately. What will happen, and what kind of world will it be. Some people predict that there won’t be any schools and teachers anymore in the future. But people opinions are different, so there might be a chance that schools and teachers will stay the way they are on the future. It is also called “Future” because it’s something that we can’t perfectly predict.

Is it true that school and teacher aren’t really needed? Well, it’s true that there are people who can study with just a book. They don’t need any teacher, who might even slow their study progress because of some reasons. But there are also people who will study more easily with a teacher. There are even some people who can’t study at all without teacher’s help. So teachers actually give a lot of helps.

Teachers and schools have other important role too. Human is always changing; they changed from a little baby to a big adult. Their mind changed from a spoiled, childish kid mind to a mature adult mind. So is their dream (of future job) and ambition. One of the other school functions is to help the students to choose their future job. Beside, if the student doesn’t go to school and study on their own, they may only want to study the lesson that they think will be useful for them. This won’t be good for them, because the other lesson that they didn’t study might be useful in the future.

To conclude, I think that schools and teachers existence is quite important. With so many good things that teacher and school could give us, we can’t say that school and teacher won’t be needed in the future.

Indonesian Medicine-Jamu

Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia. Indonesia is a rich and wide country. The capital city of Indonesia is Jakarta. Indonesia is full of culture. Such as traditional foods, dances, clothes, arts, medicines and others. I’m going to tell you about Indonesian medicine that I search from the internet and I heard from people around me.

Indonesia has a traditional medicine called jamu. 'Back to nature' is not merely a slogan in Java and Indonesia. The visible proof is the use of traditional herbal medicine of various type of 'medical plants', either from the leaves, the fruits, the roots, the flowers or the barks, etc.

These herbal medicine had been used since the ancient time up to now, it is largely consumed by people of different level; lower, middle and upper, in the villages and in the big cities. At present one could buy easily ready made jamu packed modernly in the form of powder, pills, capsules, drinking liquid and ointments. Of course there are still jamu shops, which sell only ingredients or prepare the jamu on spot as required by buyers. Some women are roaming the street to sell jamu, is a common view across the country.

The traditional methods of making jamu such as by boiling the prepared herbal ingredients (jamu godok) still prevail in Javanese society. The popular traditional tools of making jamu are still available in many Javanese houses such as; Lumpang (small iron Mortar), pipisan, parut (grater), kuali (clay pot), etc.

There are various kinds of jamu to combat different kind of illness. In Principle there are two types of jamu; the first is jamu to maintain physical fitness and health, the locally popular are Galian Singset (to keep women body fit and slim) and Sehat Lelaki (to keep men body healthy). The second is jamu to cure various kinds of illness. Except the above, there are special jamu created with the purpose to maintain a loving family harmony. The popular products among other are Sari Rapet, which makes a women sexual organ in a good condition, as for the man the matched product is jamu Kuat Lekaki (strong man). The Javanese are also taking a great care to pregnant women during pre and postnatal period by producing the related jamu. There are also jamu for the babies.

For example,sumatran cuisine often has Middle Eastern and Indian influences, featuring curried meat and vegetables, while javanese cuisine and sundanese cuisine are more indigenous

some forign country almost steal our indonesian cuisine.so we must protect our traditional food and we must conserve it or those forign country will steal it from us just like the way malaysia stole the bali dance (pendet)and our traditional batik from us and they make it to be their own traditional dance and the other country assumed that those are malaysian not indonesian

so the conclusion is that we have to protect and conserve the indonesian cuisine and we also have to take care of it so there will be no forign country who can steal it from us

Indonesian "Black and White" Culture

Indonesia is a huge country with thousands of islands and million of people live there. Indonesia also has many different culture, the different culture was caused by the kingdoms in Indonesia, that's why Sundanese is has different culture with the Balinese. But all of this kingdom was fused into a 'dynasty' called Nusantara that came from the word Nusa means country and Antara that means between. Since then the Nusantara became Indonesia.

But after centuries the culture began to fade, Indonesian teenagers forgot about their own culture and they accept too much westernization, Indonesian teenagers isn't listening to Indonesian folk music anymore, they prefer to listen to modern western song, and because of that the music instrument almost stolen by the other country as example the Angklung almost stolen by Malaysia. In the modern culture Indonesia has the worst democracy. The house of representatives didn't care about their people, the president isn't firm and undecisive. The political party also running their monkey business.

But Indonesia also has the bright sight of culture, one of them called 'gotong royong' that's mean team work but in a form of large people, like one village or more. Indonesian people is also known because of their hospitality and their friendly attitude, and Indonesian people also upholding their religion. They respect the other religion specially for the teenager.

Thats all from me and some of Indonesian culture, in both side, the good side and the bad side of Indonesian culture.

INDONESIAN CULTURE IN TRANSPORTATION

Indonesia is a wonderful country that’s full of potentials. Like in transportation, and mostly in Jakarta. The government can easily use the money from tax to build something useful like the monorail project that’s never been done. But instead almost all of them use it for their own needs, like corruption.

I’m going to tell a little about Indonesia’s potential in transportation. The monorail project that started in 2004 should have been a great way of transportation in Indonesia and especially in Jakarta, a very busy city. But then the government abandoned the project due to financial problems. If it was done, it could’ve been a great way to avoid traffic jams.

Traffic jams in Jakarta is one of the worst traffic jams in the world. And because the government can’t develop it to get better, it keeps getting worse and worse every year. In a very busy city this is a very big problem. This can decrease the effectiveness of Jakarta’s activities. That’s why this has to be stopped.

And that’s the problems of Indonesian transportation. This can be solved if only the government of Indonesia can really work well and of course without corruption. And that why us students has the duty to work hard and help build our country to the better.

Something Popular In Indonesia

The aim of this report is to present what is popular in Indonesia. I make this report is based on my vision to Indonesia, and information from my friend at school. Now i want to share about sport, public transportation and smoking habit in Indonesia

Sport: Indonesian people are different, but they have one sport that born in this country and as a symbol of Indonesia too. The sport is badminton. This sport is Indonesia’s power, many countries know Indonesia from badminton. We have a lot of badminton athletes that provide many achievements for this country.

Public Transportation: Indonesia have many kind of public transportation. From the traditional transportation , like “becak”, to the modern transportation, like “transjakarta”. Not many people in Indonesia use that public transportation. They don’t want to use it, because of safety concerns. Indonesian government and Indonesian people must keep the public transportation stay safe and clean, so people want to use it, and decrease the number of traffic jam in Indonesia.

Smoking Habit: Many of Indonesian people like to smoke. It’s seems they not only like to smoke, it’s like there are a habit to smoke from their father. So it’s like a habit from Indonesian people in past. But it’s a bad habit. Many of smokers now trying to stop smoking, but it’s not completely succesful. We can only hoping that, the bad smoking habit can be gone from Indonesian people.

So, from that report, we as an Indonesian people must to keep badminton remains a pride of Indonesia, make public transportation stay safe and clean, and trying to stop the bad smoking habit.

Indonesia actually is a unique country with a lot of traditions and cultures. Not only that, Indonesia has a lot of traditional food, dances, events, and heritages too! But sadly, there are only a few people who know and interested in it. Because of that, I decided to write this report, so people could learn about it. This report is based on the discussion and information that I got from 3 of my friends.

First, I’ll talk about Indonesian foods. Have you heard of “Satay”, “Pempek”, or “Nasi Goreng” ? Those are some of the most famous Indonesian foods. Some of Indonesian foods are well known around the world because of their unique and delicious taste. Bakso for example, is merely a dish of meatball served in a bowl of beef broth. But with it’s simple but delicious taste; bakso is loved by a lot of people. Almost all of my friends favorite foods are Indonesian food, and a lot of them like Satay and Bakso the most.

For Indonesian dances, every region (of Indonesia) has their own. There are Tari Sembah, and Tari Topeng from D.K.I Jakarta, Tari Jaipong from West Java, Tari Saman from Aceh, Tari Piring from West Sumatra, Tari Kecak from Bali, and a lot more Indonesian traditional dance. These Indonesian dances are usually divided according to several aspects. In historical aspect it can be divided into three eras, according to its patrons, it can be divided into two genres, and in its tradition, Indonesian dances can be divided into two types; traditional dance and contemporary dance.

Every Indonesia region has their own cultures, traditional events, and heritages too. You can find “Karapan Sapi” in Madura, “Ngaben” in Bali, “Lompat Batu” in Nias, and many more. For Indonesian heritages, there are Candi, ancient literature, and Rrasasti (Indonesian inscription).

With this report, we can conclude that Indonesia is a rich country with much kind of things, foods, cultures, and heritages. Indonesians this day are more interested in foreign cultures than their own, but I hope that this report will help Indonesians to love their own country’s cultures.
